John James Rousseau, A Discourse Upon The Origin and Foundation of the Inequality Among Mankind (1761). This anonymously-translated English publication, which Dr. Meijer transcribed from a Library of Congress copy, preserved all of Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s original footnotes, which is important for the history of eighteenth-century anthropology. The facsimile was published by Lenox Hill Pub. & Dist. Co. (Burt Franklin) [235 East 44th St., New York, N.Y. 10017] Reprinted: 1971.
